American culture
The American culture is a diverse mix of customs and traditions from nearly every region of the world. In today's society a girl's life is influenced by her culture and society. The German women were able to easily adapt to the American culture, because they were able to pick up on the American fashion. Now a days, girls are influenced by the media. The media tells girls what they should wear, what they should look like, and what they should do. Girls are so influenced on how they live their lives according to what the media does. It has become such a negative influence, because now a days girls think that they have to be skinny in order to look pretty. Instead of feeling comfortable with their own body. Girls are following the trends of stars who are ruining their lives with drugs, alcohol, and much more. Immigrants are able to adapt to the American culture so fast, because they watch what's on tv and think thats how they should act.

Your thoughts on how girls are influenced by the media are very true. I find a lot of younger girls place the pressure on themselves by wanting to "fit in" with their friends in school or they will be judge. Media does play a major role in society and in some way brainwash how a person thinks/feel. However, their are some individual that develop their own mindset and not let the media entirely influence them. They are just difficult because you have to get to know who they are and their personality.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on how the media plays a huge role in a girl's perspective of herself! Girls especially want to fit in with today's society and with magazines and tv shows and celebrities saying that we should wear certain cloths or act a certain way really does brainwash girls to want to be just like those in the media. And it's hard to want to stray from what the media is saying while even your peer are saying and doing what is done on tv.
